Congress vows to win over Assam again
Former minister Bora was made APCC president following demise of Anjan Dutta. Bora said, "We will have to take congress to the people and regain the lost faith of the people."

Congress has upheaval task ahead as it will face bypolls of Lakhimpur Lok Sabha seat and Boithalangso assembly seat. Lakhimpur seat fall vacant after Sarbananda Sonowal vacated it following his election from Majuli assembly seat.
Boithalangso seat will witness election as congress MLA, Mansingh Rongpi has quitted congress and joined BJP.
Congress is presently preparing a report on the reasons which led to grand old party’s debacle in its bastion Assam. The ground level report prepared after meeting party workers from across the state will be placed before party’s state executive meeting on September 4.

Bora said that new faces will inducted right from the grassroots to the Pradesh congress level. " We have started preparation for the bypolls and will give tough fight to opponent."
Congress is ravaged by the exodus of leaders from the party. Senior congress leader from Barak Valley Gautam Roy on Sunday said congress vice president, Rahul Gandhi’s body language is not attractive enough to attract people whereas BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma is sharp.
Bora said, "I am not aware about Roy’s comment. We are for rapprochement and bring back those leaders and party workers who seriously believe in congress ideology."
