Congress to stage protest against Modi government in UP
Congress will stage state-wide protest against Centre on July 22 during upcoming Monsoon Session of the Parliament to make people aware of its "wrongdoings".

"Congress workers will stage dharnas on July 22 and burn effigies of the suited-booted Modi government at all village crossings and markets besides holding nukkad nataks (street plays) to make people aware of the wrongdoings of the Central government", UPCC chief Nirmal Khatri said.
Monsoon Session of the Parliament is set to begin on July 21.
"Tableaus will be taken out depicting the failures of the Modi government at district headquarter level", he said.
The protest would aim to oppose the anti-farmers amendments proposed in the Land Acquisition Bill, inflation, corruption, inflammatory speeches by BJP leaders, slashing of funds for the schemes meant for social security and employment launched by UPA, Khatri said.
To questions on why Congress is concentrating only on Central government and not the SP government in Uttar Pradesh, Khatri said the party has been protesting against the state government form time to time.
Also people of the state have made up their minds on voting it ( Samajwadi Party) out in the 2017 Assembly Elections, he said.
Meanwhile, answering to a question on the party facing difficulties in showing its strength in UP despite a good leadership and ideology, Khatri said "The generation which raised the voice of Congress is no more and we did not cultivate the new generation which we are doing now."
