Congress to move no-confidene motion against BJP govt in Karnataka

BELLARY: Seeking to take advantage of the political instability haunting ruling BJP in Karnataka, opposition Congress has decided to move a no-confidence motion against the Jagadish Shettar government during the winter session of legislatures commencing at Belgaum from December 5.

Congress leader in the Assembly Siddaramaiah, speaking to reporters at Hoovinahadagali, about 160 kms away from here, said today his party has decided to move no-confidence motion against the BJP Ministry.

He said he was sceptical of Shettar completing BJP's remaining tenure in office in the backdrop of fissures in the ruling party with former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa going ahead to form his own political outfit.

Siddaramaiah claimed the two regional parties Karnataka Janata Party and BSR Congress formed by Yeddyurappa and B Sreeramulu respectively had no future in the state as people would not trust regional outfits.

BSR Congress headed by Sreeramulu was funded by money earned from illegal mining by mining barons and former ministers Reddy brothers, he alleged.

Assembly elections are due in the state early next year in Karnataka.
