Congress to hold kisan mahapanchayat in Bhatta Parsaul on July 9
Congress will hold a kisan mahapanchayat on July 9 in Bhatta Parsaul village, the party spokesman Subodh Srivastava said.

LUCKNOW: Congress will on July 9 hold a kisan mahapanchayat in Gautam Buddha Nagar's Bhatta Parsaul village, the site of last month's clashes between police and farmers protesting for enhanced land compensation.
"The party has decided to hold a kisan mahapanchayat at Bhatta Parsaul on July 9," party spokesman Subodh Srivastava said here.
The decision to hold the mahapanchayat, which is likely to be addressed by AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi, was taken during a high-level meeting held in Delhi yesterday.
"The district unit has been asked to submit an application today with the district administration seeking permission to hold the panchayat," he said.
Four persons, including two policemen were killed and several others injured during clashes between villagers and security force in Bhatta Parsaul on May 7.
Rahul Gandhi had visited the village on May 11 and staged a dharna before he was detained by police and later released on the UP-Delhi border late that night.
