Congress spokesperson Sandeep Dikshit said party leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi are likely to attend the meeting. "Many workers from across the country are arriving for a dialogue on MGNREGA. These are the people who have used MGNREGA in their villages to build roads, schools, panchayat buildings, ponds, and water harvesting plants... The Modi government is destroying this entire process," Dikshit said.
The conference comes at a time when Congress campers are having mixed views on the real ground effect of the party's ongoing agitation demanding reinstatement of MNREGA.
Indira Gandhi Prize for Mozambican activist
Meanwhile, Mozambican rights activist Graca Machel on Wednesday was chosen for the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace Disarmament and Development for 2025 for her contributions in many fields, according to a statement from the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust. She was chosen by a jury chaired by former NSA Shivshankar Menon.
