Congress to fast-track Lok Sabha poll preparations
NEW DELHI: The Congress Core Committee held a meeting on Friday and reviewed the political situations after the party victory in three states and decided to speed up the preparations for the Lok Sabha polls. It is learnt that the meeting also decided to hold a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) outside Delhi, most likely in Jaipur, sometime in January.

While the Congress organisations “in all the states” will be asked to gear up for Lok Sabha polls preparations , the talks with allies — with whom there is already clarity about fighting LS polls together — on seat sharing could gain momentum now even though party’s attitude towards SP and BSP in UP still remains a matter of internal discussion despite officially stated larger desire for uniting forces against BJP.

The Congress strategy committee on Parliamentary affairs also met and decided to firm up coordination with other opposition parties to unitedly demand the Triple Talaq Bill be referred to a joint select committee when it comes up in Rajya Sabha next week.
