Congress targets Modi government over price rise on World Food Day
Congress latched on to the observance of World Food Day to target Narendra Modi-led government over price rise of essential commodities, especially that of pulses.

"Congress wants to ask the Prime Minister and BJP if Indians have a right to Food and Nutrition. Going by the actions and inactions of this government has, it is apparent that the common man can't survive this government," party spokesperson Rita Bahuguna Joshi told reporters.
She wondered as to what had happened to Modi's poll promise of ushering in a 'Yellow Revolution' in India - A protein revolution!.
"Modi's emphasis on 'focussing on growing protein rich pulses' has become nothing but another unfulfilled promise. Modi, it seems, has brought that protein revolution in the country - not by making Dal and pulses available to the people, but by snatching even a serving of it from the plates of the people of this country," she alleged.
"Not only the PM, in July last year Finance Minister Arun Jaitley proposed for a technology-driven second Green Revolution that would focus on higher productivity, including a "Protein revolution,"" she added.
