Congress still hoping for reconvening of MP Assembly session: Ajay Singh

Ajay said the Governor Ram Naresh Yadav had not yet signed the notification on the adjournment, and the Governor had the right to convene a session.

BHOPAL: Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh said here on Wednesday that Congress was still hopeful that the legislature would be re-convened for discussion on the no-confidence motion tabled by his party.

The State Assembly was adjourned on July 11 sine die when a ruckus ensued following Congress leader Chaudhary Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi's opposition to the no-confidence motion of his own party. He later joined BJP.

Ajay said the Governor Ram Naresh Yadav had not yet signed the notification on the adjournment, and the Governor had the right to convene a session.

By "running away from a discussion" on the motion, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had proved that he had no faith in democracy, Ajay said.
