Congress state executive member Ram Adhar Pasi dies in mishap

AMETHI: Congress state executive member Ram Adhar Pasi died in the wee hours today after his motorbike was allegedly hit by a truck in Baramasi area here.

The 60-year-old Congress leader was seriously injured when the motorbike he was riding hit a truck last night on Pratapgarh-Jagdishpur National Highway, SHO R K Singh said.

The truck disappeared from the scene after the incident, he said.

The leader was rushed to Trauma Centre Lucknow, where he was declared brought dead at 3 am today, police said, adding the body has been sent for post mortem.

Pasi was a resident of Morai Ka Purva village under Amethi assembly segment.

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi has expressed his condolence over the sudden demise of Pasi, Gandhi's representative Chandrakant Dubey said.
