JAIPUR: Congress workers today staged demonstrations in all district headquarters alleging that the Rajasthan government was "misusing public money" for an event to mark second anniversary of the Raje dispensation, and submitted memorandum addressed to the Governor seeking his intervention in the matter.

Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president Archna Sharma alleged that the BJP has made arrangements to ferry its members from all over the state to Jaipur for tomorrow's function, which is scheduled to be addressed by party president Amit Shah.

"The government is working against the mandate which it got in the assembly elections. We have also requested the Governor to direct the state government to act in interest of the public. This is misuse of public money.

"If the BJP wants to organise a function, its expenditure should be borne by the party and not the government. The government is just misusing public money and machinery," Sharma said.

She said that Congress workers will stage a demonstration in state capital Jaipur on December 14, she added.
