Congress sounds poll bugle for the panchayat polls in Assam

GUWAHATI: Cornered by the opposition parties for the communal clashes in Assam, the Congress on Saturday sounded poll bugle for the panchayat polls.

The grand old party organised massive rally in Guwahati and asked the party workers to gear up for the challenge. Panchayat polls in the state are likely to be held on December this year.

Assam chief minister, Tarun Gogoi criticized the opposition parties and asked the party workers to carry the message of development of the government to villages.
