Congress should be a party of hope, not just criticism: Shashi Tharoor

Ahmedabad: CWC member Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday said Congress should project itself as a party of hope and positive narrative and not as one of resentment and criticism. Seconding the AICC resolution in front of the top leadership at AICC session here, Tharoor laid stress on the need to attract the youth, "who do not give much importance to history" but look for ideas for their future. He also hit out at the policies of BJP and cautioned it against creating a south-north divide.

Tharoor said: "As I said at the CWC meeting yesterday, Congress must be a party of hope, not of resentment, a party of positivity, not only of negativism, a party of the future, not just of the past, a party with a positive narrative and not just criticism... I hope we will leave here with a resounding message to the nation, that we are here, we will fight, we will be resolved, we will focus on the future and we will build a better India for all."
