If ease of winning — or comfortable wins — is defined as the winner polling more votes than the candidates ranked second and third, then in the just-concluded round of state elections nearly two out of three winners got elected hands down in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. Also, the proportion of Congress winners registering comfortable wins this time was more than the percentage of such BJP winners in 2013 in MP and Chhattisgarh. In Telangana, the ruling TRS improved on its 2013 record with 75% of the candidates winning comfortably as compared to 54% in 2013. In Rajasthan, winning record of BJP candidates was more impressive in 2013.
