Congress plays it safe, says inquiry will find out facts about Amnesty issue
NEW DELHI: The Rahul Gandhi-led AICC has chosen to play it safe in the latest case of sedition case — in Congress-ruled Karnataka — against Amnesty International India.

Unlike the high-pitched foray Gandhi and his party had made into the JNU campus some months back when sedition case was filed against some students for holding a Kashmir meet, the AICC on Tuesday said an inquiry into the Bengaluru sedition case will find out the facts.

Asked whether Gandhi will make a “solidarity trip to Bengaluru” to protest against sedition case against Amnesty, AICC spokesman Jairam Ramesh said: “It is not proper to compare the Bangalore incident with the JNU incident. JNU is a centre of excellence, a larger university.”
