Surjewala further alleged that the government is working against farmers' interests by simultaneously abolishing the MSP (Minimum Support Price) for two years and registering FIRs against farmers for stubble burning. He also raised concerns over the accessibility of the Happy Seeder Machine, even with a 50% subsidy. "The machine still costs farmers up to Rs 75,000. How will small and poor farmers afford this? Moreover, both farmers and the Punjab Agricultural University report that it reduces crop productivity. Has the government conducted any research?" he questioned.

"Has the government conducted any research?...Haryana government should answer these questions and immediately withdraw this Tughlaqi decree. Otherwise be ready for a nationwide movement ...," Surjewala asserted.
