Congress MP Pradyut Borodoloi, MLA Sibamoni Bora attacked in Assam's Nagaon district

Unidentified miscreants on Sunday attacked Congress MP Pradyut Borodoloi and party MLA Sibamoni Bora while they were on their way to attend a panchayat polls meeting in Nagaon district of Assam.

Masked miscreants at Dumdumia New Market in Dhing targeted the congress leaders. "We were on the campaign trail, returning after a meeting in Zengoni, when a group of masked men armed with rods suddenly surrounded my car on an isolated stretch of road and launched a rampage. I am certain they knew it was my car," Bordoloi said.

An FIR has been lodged. "We had to duck under our seats to protect ourselves as the assailants kept smashing the windows," Bordoloi said.


Recently Dhubri MP Rakibul Hussain was attacked.

Bordoloi said, "Such cowardly attacks cannot deter our campaign or our resolve to challenge the BJP in the upcoming elections. We are not afraid. We will continue to fight against the syndicate raj, corruption, and the many wrongdoings."

Congrese leader Charan Singh Sapra stated in X, "Frustration of CM @himantabiswao Today Nagaon MP @INCAssam leader @PradyutBordoloi and MLA @SibamoniBora were attacked by goons of @BJP4Assam.

The congress party in Assam recently accused the state police of intimidating its candidates ahead of the upcoming Panchayat elections.

Senior Congress leaders, including Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Borah and Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi, marched on foot to the office of Director General of Police (DGP) Harmeet Singh in Ulubari to raise concerns regarding targeting the Congress candidates and their family members.
