In a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath and Election Commissioners H S Brahma and S N A Zaidi, AICC Secretary and head of its legal cell K C Mittal handed over a memorandum and demanded action against the RSS and yogaguru.
"Instructions be issued to poll officials that activities on use of religion be stopped and officers act against them sternly," Mittal told the EC.
He said any organisation or group or institution or even an individual should not indulge in political activities nor can they use religion for campaigning and action should be taken against them.
Surveillance teams be also set up at the ground level to monitor the activities of such organisations, he said.
