Congress MLC urges Sonia Gandhi to declare Rahul Gandhi PM nominee

HYDERABAD: Congress MLC P Sudhakar Reddy today said he has sent a memorandum to AICC President Sonia Gandhi urging that party vice-president Rahul Gandhi be declared Prime Ministerial candidate in the AICC session scheduled to be held on January 17.

In a letter to the AICC president, Reddy, a former AICC secretary, said Rahul Gandhi is the most suitable leader to be the Prime Ministerial candidate and that his anointment would galvanise the party rank and file across the country.

He said the signatures of Congress MLAs and MLCs would be collected to be sent to the party chief separately.
