Congress may have 2 new spokespersons

With Lok Sabha polls less than a year away, Congress could have two new spokespersons to get its message across.

NEW DELHI: With Lok Sabha polls less than a year away, Congress could have two new spokespersons to get its message across.

This is because two of its spokespersons- Shakeel Ahmed and Mohan Prakash- were elevated as general secretaries in the reshuffle of the AICC Secretariat effected two weeks ago.

Party leaders said as Ahmed and Prakash have been given the responsibility to look after party affairs in poll-bound states, it would not be possible for them to brief the media.

Other spokespersons of the party are Renuka Chowdhary, Raj Babbar, P C Chacko, Meem Afzal, Bhakt Charan Das and Sandip Dikshit.

Ajay Maken was made General Secretary in the reshuffle and was given the charge of an enlarged Communication department, which was earlier being known as the Media Department.

Earlier, party General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi was in charge of the Media Department for six long years.
