Congress likely to move adjournment motion in Lok Sabha on Vyapam scam
NEW DELHI: A meeting of Congress Lok Sabha MPs, presided over by Sonia Gandhi and attended by Rahul Gandhi, has decided to go-all out in the Lower House from Wednesday by raising the Vyapam and LaMo issues and match the party’s firepower in the Rajya Sabha. Party MPs will stage a dharna near the Gandhi statue on Wednesday morning.

Congress MPs in the Lok Sabha could play up the Vyapam issue over the Lalit Modi issue as the party thinks the MP scandal has more takers among other opposition parties. The Gandhis are learnt to be in agreement with other Congress leaders that they should fight it out till the government agrees to take actions against the chief ministers and central ministers who figure in the two issues.

Congress’ Anand Sharma said: “Let me remind both Jaitley and Swaraj that it was they...who set new rule books and precedents that there can’t be a debate unless the accused ministers in the scams quit. They did so in case of Ashok Chavan...during UPA rule.”
