Congress-Left alliance in Bengal will be suicidal for both: BJP
SILIGURI (WEST BENGAL): The BJP today said any alliance between the Congress and the Left Front in West Bengal ahead of the Assembly elections will be suicidal for both the parties.

"Both the Left and the Congress should contest the elections on their own. There are talks of an alliance between them ahead of the Assembly elections. This is happening only because they are afraid of the BJP. If this alliance happens, it will be suicidal for both the parties," Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP National General Secretary and observer for West Bengal told reporters here.

Criticising the ruling Trinamool Congress, the BJP leader said "The TMC government has failed on all fronts in Bengal. I am sure if BJP workers at the grass roots level pull up their socks and work hard, we will come to power in the state."

Commenting on the suicide of Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula in Hyderabad, the BJP leader said "Any death is tragic. Only the mother who has lost her son, feels the torment. One should not play politics over deaths."

Vijayvargiya met BJP leaders from Alipurduars, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri and Siliguri and discussed strategies for the coming Assembly elections.
