Congress leads walkout from Lok Sabha on issue of thrashing of Muslim women in MP
NEW DELHI: Many opposition parties led by Congress on Friday were up in arms in Lok Sabha over the recent incident of thrashing of two Muslim women in Madhya Pradesh by cow vigilantes and over increasing atrocities against Dalits. These parties also staged a walk-out after disapproving the response from the union home minister.

Raising the issue, Congress’ Mallikarjun Kharge said, "In Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh, two Muslim women have been beaten up for allegedly taking beef with them by the Gau Rakshak Dal, and that too in the presence of police. Later the meat was found to be that of buffalo". He alleged the tactical support of the Madhya Pradesh government to the vigilantes.

Kharge said: "Everyday atrocities against Dalits are reported. Such incidents are on the rise ever since this government came to power but no action is being taken against the culprits." He asked why is the PM keeping mum on the issues.
