Congress leadership meets to end stand-off with National Conference
NEW DELHI: Congress leadership met here tonight in a bid to find a way to end the stand-off with its coalition partner National Conference over setting up of new administrative units amid reports that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was planning to resign if he did not have his way on the matter.

The outcome of the meeting was not immediately known. The meeting was held at the residence of AICC General Secretary in-charge of the state Ambika Soni in which Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, state PCC chief Saifuddin Soz, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and state Congress ministers including G H Mir, G A Mir and Rigzin Zora were present.

Meanwhile, Omar, who was here yesterday for a meeting with Soni and other Congress leaders, returned to Srinagar today.
