NEW DELHI: Congress on Wednesday fielded three top lawyers — Kapil Sibal, KTS Tulsi and Vivek Tankha — to question the credibility of CBI’s clean chit to MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Vyapam case.

While accusing CBI of “acting as an agent of the BJP government” by overlooking the evidence against the accused politicians, including Chouhan, Sibal said a group of lawyers will move a private petition in the trial court, challenging the CBI claim.

Naitikta gayi kudedaan, Jai Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan (Morality has been thrown into the dustbin, hail Clean India campaign) tweeted Rahul Gandhi after CBI clean chit to MP CM Chouhan in Vyapam scam case.

“We assure the people that we will expose CBI and bring a chargesheet against the investigating agency before the court,” Sibal said. “Let me assure everybody, including the surviving whistle blowers, that a group of senior lawyers will not only provide the best of protection to the remaining two whistle blowers but also collectively fight to expose CBI’s conduct in the case,” Tankha said.
