Congress keeps mum on caste census issue, JD(U) accuses centre of "religious polarisation"
NEW DELHI: The JD(U) on Wednesday accused the Centre of trying to create "religious polarisation" ahead by Bihar Assembly polls by releasing the census data on population of religious communities and demanded caste data should be made public. On the other hand the Congress leadership conspicuously reserved any formal comment on the delicate issue.

In an official statement JD(U) national general secretary KC Tygai said: "This effort of the government is nothing but an attempt of religious polarisation."

The census was demanded for the welfare of people, not for the polarisation process. JD(U) condemns the BJP government’s attempts of religious polarisation as it is against the development process of the backward and weaker sections of the society and it will only disturb communal harmony of the national population."
