New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday asked whether CRPF, alleging Rahul Gandhi was violating security protocol during foreign trips, was "a veiled attempt to intimidate the leader of Opposition" after he talked about an imminent expose (an apparent reference to Gandhi recently promising a 'hydrogen bomb' of expose on 'vote-chori).

"The timing of CRPF's letter and its instant public release raise disturbing questions. It comes just as Rahul Gandhi is leading the charge against BJP's 'vote chori' carried out with the Election Commission's complicity. Is this a veiled attempt to intimidate the leader of Opposition, who has already announced another imminent disclosure? Is the government rattled by the truth he is about to reveal?", Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera tweeted in response to CRPF.

Nevertheless, some leaders in Congress appeared to be on an alert about the timing of CRPF letter as it came within days of Gandhi's recent trip, reportedly to Malaysia. Gandhi is yet to comment on the issue.
