Congress has tough job on hands in MP: Ajay
The Leader of Opposition in MP Assembly Ajay Singh today said the road ahead for Congress, in the election year, was full of struggle.
Addressing public meetings at four places in the district today on the first day of the party's `Parivartan yatra', Ajay recalled that when his father, the late Arjun Singh, was the Leader of Opposition and Shivbhanu Singh Solanki, a tribal, was state Congress chief in 1980s, the party had won all the seats from Sidhi district.
He said he was hoping that this feat would be repeated in Assembly elections this year.
State Congress president Kantilal Bhuria said the Centre had given Rs 112 crore to the Madhya Pradesh government under MNREGA last year, but only Rs 53 crore reached the people.
Where the money went should be found out, he said. The meetings were attended among others by Arjun Singh's daughter Veena Singh -- who had contested Lok Sabha election as independent in 2009 but recently returned to the Congress.
