Congress guarantees: Rs 80,000 cr transferred to people, says CM Siddaramaiah
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the State Government has transferred approximately Rs 80,000 crore to citizens through welfare guarantee schemes, nearing the Congress regime's two-year milestone. He defended his government's development...

The CM, speaking at an official event in Devanahalli in Bengaluru Rural district, said his government was taking up several projects in a befitting reply to the BJP’s charges that it has no funds for development works.
Siddaramaiah asked the BJP leader to wipe out their glasses and look through them at the development works his government has taken up. The Opposition leaders, he added, were looking at his work through coloured glasses.
His government had been implementing the promises made in the Congress manifesto.
In the budget presented last month, Siddaramaiah stuck to the Congress party’s five flagship guarantee schemes by pledging Rs 51,000 crore for 2025-26, ignoring criticisms by sections of his own party colleagues and attacks by the Opposition BJP.
Several lawmakers, including some from the Congress, had sought generous funds for the development of their constituencies, but the CM, in his budget speech, maintained that many of the welfare programmes, including the guarantees, the government runs were not freebies but strategic investments for economic and social progress of people.
