Congress gives notice for adjournment motion on farmer's suicide
NEW DELHI: The issue of suicide by a farmer in Delhi is set to generate heat in the Lok Sabha today with Congress giving a notice for adjournment motion on the matter.

Congress members K C Venugopal, Rajeev Satav, Deepender Singh Hooda and Ravneet Singh Bittu have given notices to adjourn the Question Hour in the House.

Gajendra Singh, a distressed farmer from Dausa in Rajasthan, committed suicide yesterday by hanging himself from a tree in full public view in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at an Aam Aadmi Party rally.

The suicide by the farmer triggered a blame game with AAP and BJP attacking each other over the tragedy, while the Congress targeted both the parties for it and demanded registration of a case of abetment to suicide against the Centre and Delhi governments.
