Congress flags missing OBC category in Census questionnaire, seeks Telangana-like caste census
Congress has questioned the absence of a specific OBC category in the Census questionnaire, warning that the open-ended “caste” field could produce cluttered and unusable data on Other Backward Classes. AICC OBC cell chairman Anil Jaihind demanded...

Congress expressed apprehension that this might result in nonworkable data of OBCs during enumeration.

"This means when the enumerator asks the heads of families about their castes through this open-ended question of 'caste', the data thus procured will be cluttered and nonworkable," he claimed.
The OBCs will oppose it, he said, and demanded a "Telangana-like" caste census.
