Congress expels nine MLAs who joined BJP

Assam Pradesh congress committee (APCC) has written to the chief whip of the congress party in state legislature, Nilamoni Sen Deka and chief minister.

GUWAHATI: Assam Pradesh congress committee ( APCC) has written to the chief whip of the congress party in state legislature, Nilamoni Sen Deka and chief minister, Tarun Gogoi to take up with Speaker for expulsion of the nine congress MLAs who have joined BJP recently.

APCC in a statement stated that these MLAs are expelled from congress party for six years for anti party activity and are also expelled from the primary membership of the congress.

The APCC stated that it has written to the chief whip for taking up with the speaker for expulsion of these MLAs from state legislature under the anti defection law.
