Laxman Singh
The Congress leadership on Wednesday expelled former MP and MLA Laxman Singh from the party for six years for his recent public criticism of Rahul Gandhi and Robert Vadra over their comments after the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Singh, the younger brother of senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh, had revolted against the Congress leadership in the past also. He had once got elected as BJP Lok Sabha member before rejoining the Congress.

"The Congress president has expelled Laxman Singh, former MLA, Madhya Pradesh, from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress for six years with immediate effect due to his anti-party activities," Tariq Anwar, member secretary of the Congress' Disciplinary Action Committee, said in a statement without elaborating on the nature of Singh's "anti-party activities". When Singh was served a show-cause notice by the Madhya Pradesh Congress leadership last month for his comments on Gandhi and Vadra, he said he wouldn't care even if he was expelled for what he had said.
