'Congress did big mistake by announcing creation of Telangana'

Krishnasamy also wanted transparency in the appointment of teachers in educational institutions in Tamil Nadu.

COIMBATORE: Charging Congress with making a mockery of the Constitution by announcing creating Telangana, Puthiya Tamizhakam founder and MLA, Dr K Krishnasamy said the architects of the constitution had suggested that political, economical and availability of natural resources be considered and not sentiments, while creating new states.

"Congress did a big mistake by bowing to sentiments without considering requirements for growth of newly carved out States. This announcement has led to demands from other quarters for creating newer states," he told reporters here.

Stating that decentralisation was somewhat needed for good governance, but giving importance to regional sentiments would dampen the spirit of Nationality, integrity and sovereignty of India, he said two major national parties (Congress and BJP) had taken wrong steps, which would lead to further division of the people.

He also opposed the reported demand from some quarters for division of Tamil Nadu on regional basis.

Krishnasamy also wanted transparency in the appointment of teachers in educational institutions in Tamil Nadu, particularly those belonging to Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Caste and other communities.
