Cong: Bill deeply flawed bid for unconstitutional delimitation

New Delhi: Congress on Tuesday said the Constitution amendment bill raises serious questions besides it being an unconstitutional delimitation exercise. The Congress critique of the bill comes ahead of the meeting of the INDIA bloc leaders here on Wednesday to frame a common stand on the matter.

"The Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill is extremely ill-timed and poses serious questions that the Modi government must answer. Under the garb of bringing forward women's reservations, BJP is looking to bulldoze a deeply-flawed, unconstitutional and anti-federal delimitation exercise," said AICC general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal, also questioning the hurry to bring the bill in the middle of state elections.
