Congress demands CBI probe in Noida group housing land allotment

Alleging irregularity in allotment of group housing land in Noida, Uttar Pradesh Congress today demanded a CBI inquiry into it.

LUCKNOW: Alleging irregularity in allotment of group housing land in Noida, Uttar Pradesh Congress today demanded a CBI inquiry into it.

In a letter to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Congress MLA Akhilesh Pratap Singh claimed 1,33,750 metre land was allotted to a company under group housing scheme in 2007 but the firm failed to deposit 30 per cent amount within the stipulated time frame even after five years.

He said when SP came to power in March 2012, the company deposited 30 per cent and got the land allotted in its favour which was not legal and caused a loss of hundreds of crore rupees to the authority.

Singh said an inquiry was conducted on the order of the CM in which several irregularities were detected. The probe panel committee recommended FIR and departmental action against the officials concerned.

He demanded that the inquiry should be handed over to CBI, which was already probing Noida allotment case, and fresh bid should be held.
