Congress daily lauds Karunakaran, takes a dig at Kerala CM Oommen Chandy

KOCHI: The good words written about former Chief Minister K Karunakaran by Congress party men in Kerala on the occasion of his fifth death anniversary are turning out to be a veiled attack on the present leadership.

The editorial by Congress mouthpiece ‘Veekshanam’ on K Karunakaran on Tuesday praising the work done by him was seen as an attempt to belittle Chief Minister Oommen Chandy indirectly.

Almost on similar lines, a Facebook post lauding K Karunakaran by Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Wednesday is being seen as an indirect criticism of Oommen Chandy. Ramesh Chennithala has noted in his Facebook page that for Karunakaran’s development work was not for the sake of propaganda. He wanted the people to experience development.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has been projecting the development work undertaken by his ministry as the main achievement of the UDF Government.
