Congress criticises BJP for holding party event
‘BJP has politicised Pulwama; Modi changed clothes before paying homage to CRPF jawans’.

The party, which had alleged the PM was filming a documentary even after 40 CRPF jawans were martyred in Pulwama, put up the chronology of events in WhatsApp to allege that Modi continued with his political engagements after the attack. The Congress also criticised Modi for insisting on addressing booth-level workers through videoconferencing after Pakistan captured wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman on Wednesday.

It said the Congress Working Committee meeting scheduled in Ahmedabad was cancelled in view of the national security situation. A video released by Congress volunteers and those favouring the party on Twitter contrasted the statement of party president Rahul Gandhi with Modi’s speeches since the escalation of tension with Pakistan. While Gandhi is shown ‘extending support to the government’, Modi and BJP president are shown delivering political speeches baiting the ‘family’ and Congress.
“As we thought, and rightly so, that this is not the appropriate time to be going ahead with political programmes, what really shocked us was the PM addressing booth workers of the BJP rather than address the nation at a point in time when the nation was looking towards its leadership to speak to it,” said Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari.
