Congress candidate manhandled by miscreants

BARASAT: The Congress candidate of Barrackpore Samrat Tapadar was allegedly manhandled this evening by unknown miscreants when he was returning from poll campaign at Basudebpur at Jagaddal, the police said.

Angry Congress supportes blocked the main Ghoshpara Road at Palta and Tapadar lodged a complaint in the police station at about 9 pm.

The blockade was lifted after an hour following assurance of immediate action from the police, DC Traffic of Barrackpore Police Commissionarate Debasish Bej said.
