Congress booklet lists Modi government's shortcomings, says it’s ‘100 days of misrule’

NEW DELHI: The Congress leadership has come out with a booklet on the 100-day performance of the Narendra Modi-led government. The move coincides with the Union Cabinet Ministers press conferences to highlight the government’s performance.

Titled ‘ The truth of BJP government — 100 Days of Misrule’, the Congress pamphlet tried to pick holes in the NDA government’s performance in 10 areas such as government’s ‘failure to contain’ inflation and unearthing of black money. ‘100 days, 100 ceasefire violations across Indo-Pak and India-China borders, ‘increasing communal tension’ and ‘concentration of power in the PMO were the other issues.

The booklet tried to criticise the NDA regime for what Congress termed was “minimum governance, minimum talent and maximum distrust, inconsistent foreign policy, subversion and weakening of institutions, systematic destruction of educational system and growing richcorporate influence on government.”

The booklet claimed BJP losing 21 out of 42 sitting assembly seats, where by-elections were held since NDA regime took over, was “manifestation of people’s anger with the 100 days of disappointing performance of the Modi Sarkar.” Congress spokesperson Anand Sharma said BJP had claimed that it would win the by-elections by campaigning with posters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and seek votes in his name. It should now understand the saying, ‘after every high tide, there is a low tide’, he said.
