Congress blasts AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal for PM Narendra Modi praise
Cong alleged that AIUDF chief was cosying up to BJP as it is set to rule Maharashtra, where Ajmal’s perfume business would require government’s help.

Ajmal who represents Dhubri in Parliament, said after a party meeting in Guwahati that the way Congress was decimated in recent elections, AIUDF’s main rival in the state would be BJP and not Congress. “The three LS seats have come as a big boost to the party and we are determined to sustain the momentum and emerge as a much bigger force in the 2016 assembly polls,” Ajmal said.
“There was nothing wrong in appreciating the good work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There is a huge ideological difference between the BJP and AIUDF,” Ajmal added. After BJP’s Lok Sabha win, AIUDF offered issue-based support to NDA. CM Tarun Gogoi said that Ajmal has secret understanding with BJP
