"There is nothing new. Congress was protesting earlier too. They chose this day for protest and wore black clothes because they want to give a subtle message to further promote their appeasement politics because on this day PM Modi laid the foundation of Ram Janmabhoomi," Union home minister Amit Shah told media persons in Parliament.
The Congress must be a 'responsible' party and cooperate as per law, Shah added.
"The matter is based on complaints that have been filed. As far as ED is concerned, everybody should respect the law of the land," he said.
UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath also criticized the Congress for protesting in black attire. "Until now, Congress was protesting in normal attire, but today they protested wearing black clothes. It is an insult to all Ram Bhakts (devotees). They chose this day, as today is Ayodhya Diwas which marks the beginning of the construction of Ram Janmabhoomi," Yogi said.
