Congress’ Bhim Jyoti Yatra' in Uttar Pradesh from February 1
NEW DELHI: As the BJP government continues to fire fight its way with Dalit activists, Congress is all set to launch the second phase of its Bhim Jyoti Yatra in UP from February 1.

This time the rath with pictures of BR Ambedkar will travel to districts of Bundelkhand from February 1 till February 10, to create awareness among people about the work done by Congress for the Dalit community, said Shashank Shukla, part of Congress VP Rahul Gandhi’s team spearheading the Dalit outreach programme of the party. The first phase of the yatra was launched by the party last year as part of Ambedkar’s 125th birth anniversary celebrations. The rath had covered Pooravanchal then. The third phase is expected to cover western UP. Last week, Rahul had undertaken a padyatra in Bundelkhand.

In Bundelkhand, the Bhim Jyoti Rath is expected to pass through Jhansi, Laitpur, Banda, Hamirpur among other districts, apart from Allahabad, Pratapgarh and Lucknow. Under the programme, nukkad meetings will be held by Congress leaders in Dalit bastis.
