NEW DELHI: Congress today took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi as it pressed for ouster of Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia who has been served summons by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probing money laundering complaints in the Rs 6,000-crore drug racket case.

"The Prime Minister talked about the issue of drug addiction on 'Man Ki Baat' on radio. Now there is a report that the ED has summoned Majithia acting on laundering complaints in the drug racket case.

"Earlier, one more Punjab minister Swaran Singh Phillaur was made to resign after his son's name figured in it. Now the minister himself has been summoned. But no action has happened against him," party spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed told reporters at the AICC briefing.

Ahmed said that action has not been taken against Majithia as he happens to be the brother-in-law of Deputy Chief Minister Sukbir Singh Badal and brother Narendra Modi's Cabinet colleague Harsimrat Kaur Badal.

"Prime Minister Modi must pay attention towards it. Congress has decided to hold an agitation in Punjab on the issue," Ahmed, who is also the AICC general secretary in-charge of the organisation said.
