Congress assails Centre for financial cut in schemes for Rajasthan
JAIPUR: Congress today assailed the Centre for slashing budget of centrally sponsored welfare schemes for Rajasthan to the tune of Rs 1 lakh crore, saying it was a move to stall progress and development in the state.

In a statement, Congress's Rajasthan unit president Sachin Pilot condemned the move, saying the NDA government led by BJP had either finished or reduced the financial outlay of central sponsored schemes on social welfare to Rajasthan in the field of education, medical and health, and other welfare areas.

Due to scarcity of funds many of them came to standstill and others were stopped by the state BJP government, he alleged.

The Raje government was making hollow claims of industrial development while the infrastructure development was not seen anywhere in the state due to scarcity of funds, he said.

Even the budget and finances on Pradhan Mantri Gram-Sadak Yojna (PMGY) to Rajasthan were not approved yet, Pilot said quoting a media report.

Similarly, the state government has finally wound up the Rajasthan State Refinery Limited Company set up for oil and petrochemical purpose in Barmer district, Pilot commented.
