Congress asks Home Minister to explain ‘final solution’ for Jammu and Kashmir
The Congress has demanded that home minister Rajnath Singh clarify what he meant when he said the Centre was working towards a “permanent and final solution” to the Jammu and Kashmir.

AICC spokesperson Manish Tewari said “Rajnath Singhji has said the NDA government is working for a permanent and final solution. Those who understand history know phraseology such as “final solution and permanent solution” have a very disturbing consequence in history and has a very disturbing historic connotation.
It is strange the home minister who last year spoke about Insaniyat and Kashmiriyat is talking about final solution. Therefore, we would like to know what he and his government have in mind about final solution and permanent solution”.
Tewari also asked what BJP’s views were about its coalition partner, J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, repeatedly advocating the need for Centre to hold talks with Pakistan and Hurriyat as promised in the agenda for governance of coalition
