NEW DELHI: Congress on Sunday asked the political parties to stop playing politics over the Amarnath land revocation row and bring peace and stability in Jammu region.

"It is very important in sensitive state like Jammu and Kashmir for all of us to rise above party politics and realise that peace and stability," party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said.

He asked the political parties to bring normalcy in the region and resist from playing politics.

Establishing normal course of life in Jammu is important. For that reason, you have to ask yourself the question who is playing politics in Jammu, he said.

"It is important that you should not play politics whether you are in opposition or otherwise. You must bring healing touch and calm and quite to Jammu first," Singhvi said.

Every party has to introspect on the issue, he said, adding that Congress had not done anything to raise tempers in the region.
