Congress ascending in West Bengal: Adhir Chowdhury, president, PCC
West Bengal PCC President Adhir Chowdhury claimed that the party was 'ascending' in the state and slowly consolidating its position.

KOLKATA: West Bengal PCC President Adhir Chowdhury today claimed that the party was "ascending" in the state and slowly consolidating its position.
"Congress in West Bengal is ascending. It's clear that it is slowly consolidating its position in the state politics. A new zeal can be witnessed among our party workers in recent times," he told a press conference here.
Speaking about the party's plans keeping in mind the upcoming municipal and panchyat by-polls early next year, Chowdhury said, "We have taken the decision to start our fight against the misrule by Trinamool Congress government in the state.
"We will fight in a democratic manner. Our leaders will submit deputation at DM, SDO offices," he said.
In fact, Congress district leaders have been asked to prepare a list of probable candidates for next year's assembly elections, Chowdhury said.
The decision was taken today at a meeting where Chowdhury, Congress leaders and MLAs from the districts were present.
