A delegation of senior Congress leaders is likely to meet Ashok Ganguly, retired justice of the Supreme Court today. The delegation would include Pradip Bhattacharya.

Congress approaches retired Justice Ashok Ganguly to fight WB election
KOLKATA: A delegation of senior Congress leaders is likely to meet Ashok Ganguly, retired justice of the Supreme Court today. The delegation would include Pradip Bhattacharya, former president of PCC and Abdul Mannan, senior Congress leaders. According to sources in party ranks, the leaders are likely to request justice Ganguly to fight the election as a Congress candidate.

Even though, justice Ganguly has not yet cleared his position on joining a political party before election, he confirmed that the Congress leaders had already sought an appointment to meet him. The congress leaders however added that they are ready to support Justice Ganguly if he decides to fight the election as an independent candidate.

Justice Ganguly is known to be a vehement critic of Mamata Banerjee government. He also runs an organisation that often takes to street protesting against several anti-government issues.
