Congress alleges discrepancies in PM Narendra Modi's degrees
NEW DELHI: Congress today pointed to several discrepancies in the documents produced by BJP seeking to set at rest the row over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's educational qualifications.

"BJP's clarification has resulted in other questions about the PM's educational qualifications," party's chief spokesman Randeep Surjewala said after BJP released three mark-sheets and two degrees of Modi.

Surjewala, himself an MA in Political science, said he has never heard of an MA in "entire political science".

Besides, the final mark sheet for the degree showed that Modi passed his exam on February 17, 1979. "But Modi's degree certificate is dated 1978," he said.

There are spelling errors and different names in the mark sheets as the names given are "not consistent" in all the mark sheets released by BJP, he alleged.

The Congress leader also sought to know whether it is true that both the signatories on Modi's MA degree certificate have cases of forgery and fraud against them.

"In India, there is no educational qualification required for being the PM," he said, adding Modi should have made everything clear on his own when the debate on his degree had started.
