Congress, AIMIM, BRS are 4G, 3G, 2G parties: Amit Shah

Union home minister Amit Shah set the tone for the BJP's election campaign in Telangana by attacking the dynasty politics of the three major players in the state - the ruling BRS, its ally AIMIM and Congress - by calling them "2G, 3G and 4G" parties respectively.

"Congress is a 4G party which means a four-generation party -- Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira ji, Rajiv ji and now Rahul Gandhi. KCR's party is a two-generation party... KCR and later KTR; and Owaisi's party AIMIM is 3G -- three-generation party," Shah said.

Addressing a public rally on 'Raitu Gosa-BJP Barosa" (farmers' anguish-BJP's assurance), at Khammam, Shah said: "Neither will 2G come, 3G come nor 4G will come. Now is the turn of the lotus".


He said the countdown has started for the "corrupt and oppressive" K Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS government, which is supported by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, to end. On the alliance between BRS and AIMIM, Shah said BRS' car (poll symbol) steering is in the hands of Owaisi. BRS has "destroyed the dreams" of people who lost their lives while demanding a separate statehood, Shah said.

Shah exuded confidence that "the future chief minister of Telangana will be from BJP under the leadership of PM Modi".

He also alleged that the BRS regime shattered the ideals of the martyrs of Telangana liberation struggle who fought against the autocratic Nizam rule.
